摘要: A transmission device includes a driving motor, a separation roller module, a correction roller module, a discharging roller module, a first clutch, a second clutch, a third clutch and a plurality of sensors which are mounted to an automatic sheet feeder. The first clutch is disposed between the driving motor and the separation roller module. The second clutch is disposed between the driving motor and the correction roller module. The third clutch is disposed between the driving motor and the discharging roller module. The plurality of the sensors sense signal variations at the time of a leading end or a tail end of each of the documents passing through the plurality of the sensors, and the plurality of the sensors transmit the signal variations to the first clutch, the second clutch and the third clutch.

摘要: A sheet feeder picking up and transporting sheets includes a transport unit transporting sheets along a sheet transport path one by one, a gap occurrence detection unit detecting, within a predetermined section of the sheet transport path, occurrence of a gap between sheets, and a controller controlling a timing of the transport of sheets according to a result of the detection. The gap occurrence detection unit includes a first detection unit and a second detection unit. The first detection unit is configured to detect light that is emitted toward the predetermined section, reaches a converging surface thereof across the predetermined section, and converged on a receiving element thereof. The second detection unit is configured to detect light reflected by a sheet passing through the predetermined section. The occurrence of the gap is detected based on outputs from the first detection unit and the second detection unit.

摘要: Provided are a device and method for controlling a paper interval in a paper feeder of an image forming apparatus, and an image forming apparatus including the device. The device includes: a leading edge sensor configured to detect a leading edge of a sheet of paper when the sheet of paper is picked up and fed as a printing medium; a feed unit configured to accelerate the sheet of paper; and a control unit. If the sheet of paper arrives late at a paper sensing position of the leading edge sensor, the control unit measures a travel time during which the sheet of paper is fed to the paper sensing position, and according to the measured travel time, the control unit varies a time point at which the sheet of paper starts to be accelerated.

摘要: Disclosed is an image forming apparatus which includes: a feeding portion configured to feed a sheet; an image forming portion configured to form an image on the sheet; a conveying portion configured to stop the sheet fed by the feeding portion at a predetermined position and to convey the sheet to the image forming portion in accordance with a timing of forming the image by the image forming portion; a type discriminating portion configured to discriminate whether a type of the sheet to be fed belongs to a first sheet type group including plain paper or to a second sheet type group including coated paper; and a controlling portion configured to control feeding of the sheet, wherein the controlling portion is configured to change a sheet feeding start timing of the feeding portion in accordance with the type discriminated by the type discriminating portion.

摘要: A method and apparatus for controlling a post-print processing system for producing printed products. The system comprises a plurality of replaceable individual devices which are arranged one after another in a row and/or parallel and are connected to a joint control unit for adapting the system to successively following different production orders. The method includes supplying the joint control unit with information relating to the type and position of the individual devices in the post-print processing system and activating the individual devices based on the information. The information relating to the position of the individual devices is determined in the post-print processing system based on the position of the individual devices in a first data processing network comprising a ring circuit. The individual devices send out a data telegram corresponding to the position of the respective individual devices via a second data processing network to the joint control unit.

摘要: A sheet feeder includes a delivery roller that contacts a sheet on a sheet supply tray to deliver the sheet; a first detection sensor disposed upstream of the delivery roller so as to detect the sheet on the sheet supply tray; and a second detection sensor disposed downstream of the delivery roller so as to detect a leading end portion of the sheet on the sheet supply tray. The delivery roller is activated in a state where the first detection sensor detects the sheet on the sheet supply tray while the second detection sensor does not detect the leading end portion of the sheet on the sheet supply tray. Thus, all the actually feedable sheets placed on the sheet supply tray can be fed, thereby reducing a sheet setting failure on the sheet supply tray, which reduces trouble of performing a re-set operation.

摘要: An image forming apparatus feeds a recording sheet from a sheet feed roller, clamps the recording sheet between an image carrier and a transfer roller, transfers a toner image to the recording sheet from the image carrier while conveying the recording sheet, and fixes the transferred toner image on the recording sheet. Recording sheets are stacked on an elevating plate. An elevating plate swinging mechanism vertically swings the elevating plate. A rotation drive mechanism rotates the sheet feed roller in synchronism with the elevating plate swinging mechanism. A recording sheet detector detects a leading edge of each recording sheet fed from the sheet feed roller. A conveyance controller measures sheet feed time from starting a sheet feed operation to detecting the leading edge of the recording sheet. Based on the measured sheet feed time, the conveyance controller sets a sheet feed start timing of a next recording sheet.
