Abstract: A high strength polymer-based cartridge having a polymer case with a first end having a mouth. A body can be formed below the mouth and having a propellant chamber and a longitudinal axis. A back end can be formed opposite the first end and formed below the body, with a first snap ridge comprising a first ridge angle at approximately at 90° to the longitudinal axis; and a second snap ridge, positioned closer to the first end than the first snap ridge, comprising a second ridge angle at approximately at 90° to the longitudinal axis. Further, an insert is configured to engage the back end.

Abstract: A core-shell filament useful for fused filament fabrication includes a core, and a shell surrounding and in contact with the core. The core contains a block polyetherimide-polysiloxane. The shell contains a polyetherimide. When the filament is used in fused filament fabrication for printing a three-dimensional article, the core material remains surrounded by shell material. So, the printed article exhibits good interlayer adhesion provided by the shell material, and good ductility provided by the core material.

Abstract: The present subject matter includes systems, methods, and devices for optimization of objects generated using 3-D printing. A printed object may be optimized for performance, such as increasing the strength of the object while retaining the shape of the object. For example, if the object is an object designed for a three-point bend, optimization may include removing material from regions within the object to change the relative densities and stiffness in each of the regions while retaining the original shape of the object. Optimization of an object while retaining the object shape enables the object to function and to appear as it was origin ally designed, and to continue to interact with neighboring components in the same way.
