    Abstract: A method performed by an electronic device for estimating a landmark point of a body part of subject by electronic device is provided. The method includes generating, by the electronic device, an initial coarse estimation of the landmark point of the body part using a light-weight deep neural network, determining, by the electronic device, an occluded region of the body part based on the generated initial coarse estimation of the landmark point using a segmentation mask, estimating, by the electronic device, the occlusion probability for the landmark point in the at least one occluded region and the generated initial coarse estimation, determining, by the electronic device, a correction factor for applying on the generated initial coarse estimation as a measure of the estimated occlusion probability, and selecting, by the electronic device, a pre-defined number of neural networks by applying the determined correction factor for processing the at least one occluded region and the generated initial coarse estimation to generate final estimation of the landmark point.

    Abstract: An apparatus for performing artificial intelligence (AI) encoding on an image includes: a memory storing one or more instructions; and a processor configured to execute the one or more instructions stored in the memory to: determine a resolution of an original image; when the resolution of the original image is higher than a predetermined value, obtain a first image by performing AI downscaling on the original image via a downscaling deep neural network (DNN); when the resolution of the original image is lower than or equal to the predetermined value, obtain a first image by performing AI one-to-one preprocessing on the original image via a one-to-one preprocessing DNN for upscaling; generate image data by performing first encoding on the first image; and transmit the image data and AI data including information related to the AI downscaling or information related to the AI one-to-one preprocessing.

    Abstract: An artificial intelligence (AI) decoding apparatus includes at least one processor configured to execute one or more instructions to: obtain a second image corresponding to a first image by performing first decoding on image data included in a main bitstream, obtain AI upscaling activation flag information included in AI data of a sub-bitstream, determine whether to perform AI upscaling on the second image, based on the AI upscaling activation flag information, when it is determined that AI upscaling is to be performed on the second image, obtain a third image by performing AI upscaling on the second image, through an upscaling deep neural network (DNN) set according to upscaling DNN information, the upscaling DNN information selected from among a plurality of pieces of pre-stored upscaling DNN information based on at least a portion of the image data and/or at least a portion of AI sub-data.
