Abstract: A method of a first device communicating with at least one second device in a wireless local area network (WLAN) system includes the first device generating a null data packet announcement (NDPA) frame and transmitting the NDPA frame to the at least one second device. The generating of the NDPA frame includes identifying a protocol version of the at least one second device and the NDPA frame includes an NDPA version subfield generated based on the protocol version.
