Abstract: Disclosed are an electronic device and a control method thereof. The electronic device according to the present invention includes a display unit, a memory including at least one instruction, and a processor for executing at least one instruction to control the display unit to display a pattern image and a widget UI set by a user while the electronic device is operating in a standby mode, wherein the processor changes the pattern image on the basis of information contained in the widget UI or the type of the widget UI. Abstract: A display apparatus and a method for controlling the same are provided. The method includes displaying a content guide User Interface (UI) including a plurality of content bars classified by category, extending, in response to a content bar being selected from among the plurality of content bars, the selected content bar, and displaying at least one content included in a category corresponding to the selected content bar in a content area generated by the extended content bar.
