摘要: According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, an electronic device may comprise a housing including a first surface facing in a first direction and a second surface facing in a second direction opposite the first direction, the housing including a transparent cover that comprises at least part of the first surface, a display disposed between the first surface and the second surface of the housing and configured to display information through the transparent cover to an outside, an illumination part comprising light emitting circuitry disposed at an inner side of an end of the first surface of the housing and configured to emit light to the transparent cover, an optical coupler disposed between the illumination part and the transparent cover and configured to reflect light from the illumination part to the transparent cover, and a biometric sensor disposed under the transparent cover and the display. In an electronic device including a biometric sensor according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a light source is put to use in sensing the user's fingerprint information using a biometric sensor positioned in a display activation area, thereby providing better performance and an improved outer appearance.

摘要: According to the present disclosure, an electronic device may include a housing forming a first portion of an outer surface of the electronic device and a display received in the housing and forming a second portion of the outer surface. The display may include a biometric sensor formed between a first pixel and a second pixel and a waveguide substantially perpendicular to the biometric sensor and extending from the biometric sensor to the second portion. In an electronic device, light or ultrasonic waves may be put to use in sensing the user's biometric information (e.g., fingerprint information) using a biometric sensor positioned in a portion of the display, presenting better performance.

The electronic device includes a sensor, a touch screen, and a processor that activates a first area corresponding to at least a part of the touch screen for determining whether a cover device mounted to the electronic device opens or closes, and determines whether the cover device opens or closes based on a touch input corresponding to a specific pattern included in the cover device, sensed through the activated first area of the touch screen, and based on information on whether the cover device is in proximity to the electronic device, sensed through the sensor.

摘要: An electronic device is provided. The electronic device may include: a housing including a first face facing a first direction and a second face facing a second direction opposite the first direction, and further including a transparent window comprising at least a portion of the first face; a display device disposed between the first face and the second face of the housing and configured to display information to an outside through the transparent window; an illumination unit comprising light emitting circuitry disposed inside the first face of the housing and configured to emit light toward the transparent window; a reflective unit comprising a reflective surface and disposed between the illumination unit and the transparent window, and including a plurality of reflective structures configured to reflect light emitted from the illumination unit toward the transparent window; and a biometric sensor disposed to face at least a portion of the transparent window and configured to sense light reflected on the transparent window. The electronic device including a fingerprint sensor is capable of ensuring a superior performance using a light source in sensing fingerprint information of a user using a fingerprint sensor located in a display active region. Further, the electronic device is capable of effectively ensuring an amount of incident light transmitted to the biometric sensor using the reflective unit and the transparent window, which substantially completely reflects the light emitted from the light source.
