Abstract: An electronic device is provided which includes a housing including a first face that faces a first direction and a second face that faces a second direction, which is opposite to the first direction, the housing including a transparent cover that forms at least a portion of the first face, a display disposed between the first face and the second face of the housing and exposed through the transparent cover, a fingerprint sensor disposed between the transparent cover and the display, a touch sensor disposed between the fingerprint sensor and the display, and a pressure sensor disposed between the display and the second face of the housing.

Abstract: An electronic device according to various embodiments of the present invention comprises: a housing including a first plate and a second plate spaced apart from the first plate; a touch screen display disposed inside the housing and exposed through a part of the first plate; a pressure sensing circuit disposed between the first plate and the second plate, and configured to detect pressure caused by an external pressure applied to at least a part of the touch screen display; a wireless communication circuit disposed inside the housing; at least one processor disposed inside the housing and electrically connected to the touch screen display, the pressure sensing circuit, and the wireless communication circuit; and a memory disposed inside the housing and electrically connected to the processor, wherein the memory is configured to store an application program including a user interface and instructions, wherein the instructions are configured to cause the processor to, when executed, display at least one object on the user interface on the touch screen display, detect a pressure level for a user input in the at least one object or in the periphery thereof by using the pressure sensing circuit, and select one of a plurality of operations, related to the at least one object, on the basis of at least one part of the detected pressure level. Other embodiments are also possible.

The second surface may face a fourth direction. The third and fourth directions may be configured to differ from the first and second directions, respectively. The touch screen display may have at least a part exposed through at least a part of the first plate. Other various embodiments may be possible.

Abstract: An electronic device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a housing that comprises a first surface which faces a first direction and a second surface which faces a second direction opposite to the first direction, and that comprises a first transparent plate which forms at least a portion of the first surface of the housing; a display that is disposed between the first transparent plate and the second face of the housing, and comprises a second transparent plate which faces the first direction, and a third transparent plate which faces the second direction; a first electrode, a second electrode, a third electrode, and a fourth electrode that are disposed between the second transparent plate and the third transparent plate; and a control circuit that is electrically connected to the first electrode, the second electrode, the third electrode, and the fourth electrode, wherein the control circuit may be configured to detect the position of touch input with respect to the first transparent plate by using the first electrode, to detect the intensity of the touch input by using the second electrode, and to display visual information on at least a portion of the display by using the third electrode and the fourth electrode. In addition, an electronic device comprising a pressure sensor according to various embodiments of the present invention can provide a slim electronic device with reduced manufacturing costs by utilizing an integrated structure with a touch sensor and/or a fingerprint sensor and by disposing the touch sensor including the pressure sensor, and other sensors between various structures inside the display.

Abstract: According to the present disclosure, an electronic device may include a housing forming a first portion of an outer surface of the electronic device and a display received in the housing and forming a second portion of the outer surface. The display may include a biometric sensor formed between a first pixel and a second pixel and a waveguide substantially perpendicular to the biometric sensor and extending from the biometric sensor to the second portion. In an electronic device, light or ultrasonic waves may be put to use in sensing the user's biometric information (e.g., fingerprint information) using a biometric sensor positioned in a portion of the display, presenting better performance.
