Abstract: A storage device is provided. The storage device includes: a memory controller configured to identify an operating state of the storage device based on a request signal provided by a host; an auxiliary power supply configured to provide an internal supply voltage; and a power loss protection (PLP) power manager configured to: generate a PLP charging voltage based on an external supply voltage; provide the PLP charging voltage to charge the auxiliary power supply until the PLP charging voltage reaches a first voltage level and discharge the auxiliary power supply until the PLP charging voltage reaches a second voltage level, in a normal state; and provide the PLP charging voltage to charge the auxiliary power supply until the PLP charging voltage reaches a third voltage level and discharge the auxiliary power supply until the PLP charging voltage to a fourth voltage level, in an idle state.
