Abstract: A display apparatus and a control method thereof are provided. The display apparatus includes: a display panel including a plurality of pixels; a storage configured to store a plurality of lookup tables respectively corresponding to a plurality of gamma values; and a processor configured to determine a lookup table, from among the plurality of lookup tables, to be applied to each of the plurality of pixels based on a location of each of the plurality of pixels on the display panel, and determine a brightness value of each of the plurality of pixels using the determined lookup table.

Abstract: Provided herein is an image display apparatus including a receiver configured to receive first image data; a signal processor configured to process the received first image data; an outputter configured to output the processed first image data; a storage configured to store second image data; and a controller configured to cut off power supplied to at least one component from among components of the image display apparatus and to control the outputter to output the stored second image data to an area of a screen, in response to the image display apparatus entering a power saving mode.
