Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for unlocking a device with enhanced security level are provided. The method includes: receiving a first input indicating a reference point, receiving an input pattern including a plurality of inputs in a plurality of directions, wherein each of the plurality of inputs is initiated from the reference point, determining whether the plurality of inputs included in the input pattern are substantially identical to a plurality of inputs included in predetermined unlocking data; and unlocking the device based on the determination.
