Abstract: A negative electrode active material includes a core including a silicon-carbon composite; and a coating layer on a surface of the core, the coating layer including a surfactant and graphene, wherein the negative electrode active material has a ratio (Isecond peak/Ifirst peak) of an intensity of a second peak appearing at 2θ=about 45° to about 50° relative to an intensity of a first peak appearing at 2θ=about 25° to about 27° of about 0.1 to about 0.4, in an X-ray diffraction analysis using a CuKα ray.
