Abstract: Disclosed are a negative active material for a rechargeable lithium battery, a negative electrode including the negative active material, and a rechargeable lithium battery including the same. The negative active material includes crystalline carbon, wherein the crystalline carbon has a Raman spectrum peak intensity ratio (ID/IG) of a peak intensity (ID) of a D peak (about 1360 cm−1 to about 1370 cm−1) relative to a peak intensity (IG) of a G peak (about 1580 cm−1 to about 1590 cm−1) of less than about 0.05.
