The machine for spinning textile fibres has a rotor in the form of a multi-vane wheel including a disc having a central opening and a fibre-supporting surface adapted to receive a stream of fibres thereupon and which takes part in formation of a yarn from these fibres at rotation of the rotor, the yarn being withdrawn through the central opening. A plurality of slots is made through this disc surface, extending from the central opening toward the periphery of the disc, projections being located on this fibresupporting surface intermediate of these slots, in order to assist in retaining the fibres at this surface of the disc. The machine provides for reliable retention of the fibres at the supporting surface of the disc irrespective of the angular speed of rotation of the rotor; furthermore, it effects the removal of foreign matter directly during the course of spinning without affecting this process. The proposed machine may be employed with the utmost effectiveness for spinning yarn having a high linear density.

A device for a non-ring spinning of fibers is designed for use in non-ring spinning frames. The device is provided with a feeder and a twisting mechanism built into a housing and interconnected by a channel for transporting separate fibers. The channel is defined by two telescopically related cylinders, with the inner cylinder being rigidly coupled with the housing, and the outer cylinder, which freely envelops the inner cylinder, adjoining the twisting mechanism. With such a design of the channel, the outer cylinder can be moved with respect to the inner cylinder, affording access into the twisting mechanism. This arrangement results in a much simplified design of non-ring spinning devices.

A drive for a twisting mechanism for spinning and twisting frames in which there is provided a constantly rotating shaft, a tension roller mounted on a vertically rotatable lever, and a flexible coupling entrained about the tension roller and the shaft of the twisting mechanism and urged by the tension roller into contact with the constantly rotating shaft to impart rotation to the twisting mechanism shaft. The tension roller can be displaced by the rotatable lever, thereby retracting the flexible coupling from the constantly rotating shaft. Such an arrangement permits individually stopping any twisting spindle without shutting down the whole frame, which adds significantly to the overall operating efficiency of such frames.

An arrangement for feeding fibres into the twister of an openend spinning frame comprises a feed roller, a drive combing roll and a clutch composed of two semiclutches, one fixed on the feed roller shaft and the second coupled with a drive to transmit rotation to the feed roller when in gear with the first semiclutch. The feed roller shaft is radially fixed in the cavity of the feed roller and spring-urged into axial abutment thereagainst, thereby providing for the displacement of the shaft in order that the semiclutches may be thrown into gear.
