Abstract:
A liquid ejection apparatus includes a liquid ejection section configured to print by discharging a liquid from a nozzle, a liquid container having an accommodation chamber that stores liquid and an injection port that communicates with the accommodation chamber and into which the liquid is configured to be injectable from the outside, a supply flow path communicating between the liquid ejection section and the liquid container, and an opening and closing mechanism. The opening and closing mechanism that is configured to switch such that an open state in which the supply flow path is opened and a closed state in which the supply flow path is closed when power is turned on and not to switch when power is turned off.
Abstract:
A terminal unit is mountable on a cartridge holder including an ink inlet, which draws in ink supplied to an ink ejection head and is located in an inner bottom surface of an accommodation unit that is capable of accommodating an ink cartridge, an electrical connection portion, an accommodation unit positioning portion, and a lever including a restriction portion capable of restricting movement of the ink cartridge when accommodated in the accommodation unit in a direction in which the ink cartridge is removed from the accommodation unit. When the terminal unit is mounted on the cartridge holder, a terminal group contacts the electrical connection portion, an engaging portion is engaged with the restriction portion of the lever, and a unit positioning portion is positioned by the accommodation unit positioning portion.
Abstract:
A cartridge comprises an ink supply structure, a terminal bearing structure, and a first restriction portion. The terminal bearing structure has terminals arranged in a terminal plane which is neither parallel nor perpendicular to a plane defined by a mounting direction leading edge of the ink supply structure, so that the contact portions of the terminals receive a force in a direction opposite from the mounting direction. An engagement portion of the first restriction portion is provided at a position adjacent to the terminal bearing structure.
Abstract:
A cartridge manufacturing method is a method for manufacturing a cartridge having a case, a chamber adapted to filled with printing material, a supply port for leading the printing material inside the chamber to outside the case, a flexible sheet member constituting at least a portion of the chamber, and a biasing member that biases the sheet member in the direction that expands the capacity of the chamber. Pressure is made to act on the printing material, and the printing material is filled from the supply port to inside the chamber.
Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a refilled cartridge is provided for performing refilling of printing material after use of a cartridge comprising a chamber of variable capacity, a detection section that optically detects the printing material inside the chamber, an air introduction port that introduces outside air into the chamber, a valve section that opens and closes the air introduction port according to the negative pressure inside the chamber, and a supply port that supplies the printing material within the chamber to the outside. With this manufacturing method, the printing material is refilled into the chamber so that a designated volume of air exists after refilling of the printing material is completed.
Abstract:
A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a liquid ejecting head which performs a printing by ejecting liquid onto a medium from a nozzle, a wiping portion which wipes the liquid ejecting head by moving relative to the liquid ejecting head, a maintenance unit which performs a maintenance to forcibly discharge the liquid from the nozzle, and a preprocessing device which performs a preprocessing on the medium before the printing is performed, in which when the wiping portion and the liquid ejecting head are separated from each other in the wiping not accompanying the maintenance, the wiping portion is displaced in a direction away from the preprocessing device.
Abstract:
A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a first tank that stores liquid to be supplied to a liquid ejecting head, a second tank that receives liquid that has not been ejected by the liquid ejecting head, a circulation path that circulates liquid. The second tank separately has a first opening that communicates with a second pressure adjusting unit that can depressurize the second tank and a second opening that communicates with a second atmosphere opening valve that switches the second tank between a sealed state and an atmosphere opening state. The second opening is arranged at a position lower than the first opening in a vertical direction.
Abstract:
A waste liquid container is detachably mounted on a mounting unit which includes a discharge portion discharging a waste liquid and a projection to which a substrate connection portion is joined. The waste liquid container includes: a containing portion that is able to contain the waste liquid; a connection concave portion that is opened in a mounting direction; a circuit substrate that includes connection terminals electrically connected to the substrate connection portion and is joined to the connection concave portion; and a waste liquid introduction portion that is connected to the discharge portion. In the connection concave portion, one pair of guide portions guiding the projection is formed so that the connection terminals are interposed therebetween in a width direction intersecting the mounting direction. Of the pair of guide portions, one guide portion is disposed between the connection terminals and the waste liquid introduction portion in the width direction.
Abstract:
A liquid holding container is adapted to supply liquid to a liquid introduction portion of a liquid consuming device. The liquid holding container includes a container and a first porous member. The container includes a liquid holding portion for holding the liquid, and a discharge port in communication with the liquid holding portion for discharging the liquid to the liquid introduction portion. The first porous member is provided on the discharge port for contacting the liquid introduction portion. The first porous member has a projecting part projecting in a direction from the liquid holding portion toward the discharge port.
Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a refilled cartridge for performing refilling of printing material after use of a cartridge is provided. The cartridge includes a first case including a recess having a bottom surface and an opening, a flexible portion attached to the opening, a second case covering the open surface of the first case, a pressure receiving portion contacting the flexible portion, a chamber of variable capacity and a biasing member that generates negative pressure inside the chamber The printing material is refilled into the chamber so that two or more points across the biasing member on the pressure receiving portion do not contact the second case after refilling of the printing material is completed.
