Abstract: A new fiber optic connector provides a very small form factor with reduced size. The fiber optic connector may comprise a single-body housing having a front end and rear end in a longitudinal direction, two ferrules accommodated in the housing and protruding from the front end of the housing, a back housing positioned adjacent to the rear end of the housing, two springs positioned between the two ferrules and the back housing to urge the two ferrules to move forward, and a boot assembly connected to the rear end of the housing. The housing comprises a latch arm extending obliquely upwards, and the latch arm is in a depressed state when the fiber optic connector is mating with an adapter.

Abstract: An optical fiber connector assembly comprising an MPO connector and a push-pull tab. The connector may have an outer housing and an inner housing extending beyond a rear end of the outer housing, the outer housing having a first protrusion and the inner housing having a second protrusion positioned at a distance from the first protrusion. The push-pull tab may comprise a main body and an extender coupled to the main body, the main body having a plurality of walls forming a passageway configured to receive the connector, the plurality of walls including a first wall having a window sized according to the distance between the first and second protrusions and configured to receive the first and second protrusions. In another embodiment, the push-pull tab may comprise a first piece and a second piece configured to couple to each other to form a passageway for receiving the connector.

Abstract: Connector assemblies are described herein. For example, a connector assembly including: a housing configured to accept a first ferrule and a second ferrule. Abstract: A multiple fiber push-on (MPO) optical connector is provided having a ferrule configured to house multiple optical fibers and including a stepped portion extending from at least one pair of opposing exterior surfaces of the ferrule. A one-piece housing-backpost is provided having a distal end in a connection direction and a proximal end in a cable direction. The resiliently-deformable ferrule-retaining protrusion is configured to deform towards the housing-backpost interior sidewall as the ferrule is inserted from the distal end and to extend outward against the stepped portion of the ferrule when the ferrule is seated in the housing-backpost to maintain the ferrule in the housing-backpost.

Abstract: A multiple push-on (MPO) optical connector is provided having a ferrule configured to house multiple optical fibers and a housing having a distal end in a connection direction configured to hold the ferrule. The housing further includes a pair of proximal apertures and at least one proximal groove. A backpost has a distal end that urges the ferrule toward the distal end of the housing and a proximal end configured to receive a crimp ring. The backpost includes a pair of proximally extending latch arms that reverse latch in the proximal apertures of the housing. To strengthen the connector in side-loading environments, the backpost further includes a reinforcing rib that is received in the housing proximal groove. In a further aspect, the proximal end of the backpost may include a neck with an approximately curved side profile that, following crimping with a stepped crimp ring, results in an angled crimp.
