Abstract: The invention discloses a sensor and method for measuring fluid loss. The fluid loss sensor comprises: a first fluid container, comprising a permeable section, a fluid inlet and a first fluid outlet; a second fluid container enclosing an outer surface of the permeable section and having a second fluid outlet; and a fluid flow sensor for measuring fluid flow in the fluid outlet. The sensor comprises automated cleaning means, enabling automated cleaning for an automated drilling operation.

Abstract: The invention relates to a system and method for forming a pipe assembly. The method comprises: providing a composite pipe (112) having an inner diameter; providing a liner (110) having a first outer diameter which is smaller than the inner diameter of the composite pipe; placing the liner (110) in the composite pipe (112); and expanding the liner such that the liner has a second outer diameter which is greater than the first outer diameter, and an outer surface of the liner is in contact with an inner surface of the composite pipe, so as to form a pipe assembly including said composite pipe and said liner.

Abstract: The performance of oil/and or gas well drilling equipment is measured by: input and output performance sensor assemblies that monitor associated equipment input and output performance characteristics; and alerting an operator if there is an anomaly between the monitored input and output performance characteristics; and wherein furthermore electric or hydraulic power input characteristics supplied to drilling equipment, such as a mud pump, drill string hoist and top drive are compared with delivered output characteristics, such as mud flux, drill string weight and rotation to alert an operator if there is an anomaly between the measured input and output characteristics.
