Abstract:
The disclosed technology wirelessly connects a pair of hearing devices to a computing device using an NFC tag. In some implementations, the NFC tag is associated with a credit card or identification card for the user. In other implementations, the NFC tag is associated with hearing device box that is configured to hold the hearing devices and/or charge the hearing devices while in the box. The NFC tag can be associated with the user and the hearing devices associated with the user. To use the NFC tag to wirelessly connect the hearing device to a computing device, the user can simply tap the wireless communication device against the card of the hearing device box. The NFC tag can also be linked to an ID associated a hearing device user, a hearing device, and a hearing care professional to establish a fitting session (e.g., a distance fitting session over the internet).
Abstract:
A method for controlling and/or configuring a user-specific hearing system using a computing and/or communication device. The hearing system includes at least one hearing device customisable according to the individual hearing ability and/or preferences of a user of the hearing system. The method includes connecting the hearing system to a server via a network, connecting the computing and/or communication device to the server via the network, providing by the server a hearing system control and/or configuration service tailored to the user-specific hearing system to the computing and/or communication device, determining and/or selecting at the computing and/or communication device control data and/or configuration data using the hearing system control and/or configuration service, sending the control and/or configuration data from the computing and/or communication device to the hearing system, and adjusting the hearing system based on control and/or configuration data received at the hearing system.
Abstract:
The disclosed technology relates to securely sharing data between a hearing care professional (HCP) and a hearing device user. For example, the disclosed technology relates to securely accessing fitting data for a hearing device. The disclosed technology includes a hearing device that has a memory, where the memory stores a key that can be used for encryption and decryption. The key can be a symmetrical key. In addition to storing a key, the hearing device can store a uniform resource indicator (URI) in its memory.
