Abstract: Provided are an apparatus and a method that performs selection or display mode change of a virtual object to be displayed depending on a real object type in a target area to be a display area for the virtual object. The object identification unit identifies a real object in the target area to be the display area for the virtual object, and the content display control unit performs processing of selecting the virtual object to be displayed or processing of changing the display mode depending on the object identification result.

The distribution device according to the present technology includes a reception unit that receives first motion information indicating a motion of a user, a distribution unit that distributes second motion information indicating a motion of an avatar corresponding to the user, to a terminal that displays the avatar, and an adjustment unit that adjusts an information amount of the second motion information distributed by the distribution unit in accordance with the first motion information.
