Abstract: The present disclosure relates to lithium-ion energy storage systems, methods of manufacturing a lithium-ion battery, and lithium-ion batteries having an Ni-rich cathode, an anode, an electrolyte, and a separator. Preferably, the electrolyte is located between the anode and the cathode, and includes a fluorinated solvent, an additive, and a lithium salt.
