Abstract: The apparatus comprises a plurality of baffles positioned in the vessel so as to be perpendicular to the flow of fluids through said vessel and a plurality of sets of swirl vanes that are assembled in such a manner that a fluid medium being introduced into the vessel between beds of solids will be intimately admixed with other fluids that are passing through the vessel from one bed of solids to another.
