Abstract:
A rotary output locating and locking device operable for positively locking a rotary output of an air motor operated power tool in a predetermined angular relation to the tool housing and for positioning a torque indicator carried on a motor operated rotary drive, which is interconnected to the rotary output via a torsional spring drive, in a corresponding starting position to condition the tool to be energized for calibrating and setting stall torque under simulated running load conditions.
Abstract:
A pneumatic power tool drive mechanism having coaxial drive and driven rotors and an intermediate torsion spring and relatively rotatable in accordance with the transmitted torque. A torque indicating device of the power tool comprises an axially reciprocable and non-rotatable torque scale operator actuated in one axial direction in accordance with the relative angular displacement of the drive and driven rotors to indicate the applied torque and urged in the opposite axial direction to reset the torque scale operator through the engagement of dimples on the torque scale operator with a helical cam on the driven rotor.
Abstract:
A fluid operated stall type power tool having a fluid supply line including a motor inlet passage, the tool incorporating a normally open stall torque regulator valve in the motor inlet passage, a built-in orifice restriction in the supply line upstream of the stall torque regulator and a modulating spring engaging the valve for maintaining valve travel rate of displacement from its normally open position proportional to the rate of increase in the torque load on the motor during loading of the tool.
