Abstract: The present invention refers to a process for the trans-selective hydroboration of internal alkynes and the so-obtained products. The inventive process makes use of a borane of the formula X1X2BH selected from the group of dialkyl boranes or di(alkoxy)boranes which are reacted with the internal alkynes in the presence of a cyclyopentadienyl-coordinated ruthenium catalyst.
