Abstract: An electric appliance including timing means and adapted to receive a battery operated device for storage and for the purpose of charging the battery contained therein. The appliance has a plastic housing which provides chambers for the timing means, the battery operated device, accessory items such as toothpaste and for cord storage. Two lamps are provided, one of which indicates that the battery operated device is being charged, and the other both illuminates the timing means and directs light outwardly to provide a night light.

Abstract: A manicure device is provided which imparts reciprocating motion to a removable manicure tool. An electric motor drives a pinion gear which in turn drives a ring gear which has an integral eccentric. A tool holder is moved in a reciprocating motion by the eccentric and at its end receives the manicure tool. The tool holder is guided in its reciprocating motion by means of roller bearings which ride on the inner surfaces of a hollow enclosure. A handle containing the motor and the tool holder is stored in the upper portion of a plastic case along with the manicure tools, and the line cord is stored in a recessed enclosure that is accessible from the bottom of the case.

Abstract: An illuminated makeup mirror including a flat compact casing which is provided with hinged housing halves permitting the casing to be opened to expose a makeup mirror. Mounted within the casing is a movable illuminating means which consists of a pivotal bulb carrier supporting a row of bulbs which are powered by a rechargeable battery positioned within the case. The separate case halves support a conventional mirror and a magnifying mirror with the illuminating means being movable to illuminate the face when either of the mirrors are used. A frame member positioned in one of the housing members is formed with integral recesses for receiving the illuminating means and for containing the battery, the switching means for illuminating means and the terminal means for interconnecting the battery to a source of charging power.
