Abstract: A display device which supports a panel self refresh (“PSR”) mode includes a source unit and a synchronizing unit, and a signal is transmitted between the source unit and the synchronizing unit through an interface. The source unit determines on/off of the PSR mode in response to a PSR setting value, and additionally determines whether to activate the PSR mode in response to luminance information.

Abstract: A display device and a driving method thereof are provided. The display device includes: a display panel including a plurality of pixels; a timing controller for calculating an On-Pixel Ratio (OPR) of input image data with respect to an arbitrary frame, and correcting the input image data, based on the OPR; and a data driver for generating a data signal, based on the corrected image data, and providing the data signal to the display panel.
