Abstract:
A data processing device, which processes and provides data to a plurality of logical pixels of a display device, includes: a data analysis part which analyzes information of text, color, line or edge in each of the data; and a data compensation part which compensates text data corresponding to a logical pixel which does not express text color among the data having the information of text based on the information analyzed in the data analysis part, where each of the logical pixels of the display device comprises at least one of red, green, blue and optional color sub-pixels.
Abstract:
A display device includes a display panel including gate lines which extends in a first direction, data lines which extends in a second direction, and sub-pixels connected to corresponding gate and data lines, a gate driver configured to drive the gate lines, a data driver configured to apply a gray-scale voltage to the data lines, and a timing controller configured to generate and apply control signals to the gate and data drivers, where a unit pixel of the display panel is defined by an even number of adjacent sub-pixels among the sub-pixels, each of the data lines is connected to corresponding sub-pixels of the sub-pixels, the data driver inverts a polarity of the gray-scale voltage every two data lines, and two adjacent sub-pixels in the unit pixel are applied with the gray-scale voltages having different polarities.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a display device including a first block including a first primary color pixel and a second primary color pixel having substantially a same area, a second block alternatingly disposed with the first block along the first direction, the second block including a third primary color pixel, a fourth primary color pixel and a white pixel. The first block and the second block have substantially a same area and the third primary color pixel has an area wider than the fourth primary color pixel and the white color pixel.
Abstract:
A display device includes pixel patterns to display an image. Each pixel pattern is repetitively arranged in row and column directions, including primary pixels, first complex pixels and second complex pixels. Each primary pixel is composed of two primary color sub-pixels configured to provide two primary colors of three primary colors, wherein the three primary colors comprise red, green and blue. Each first complex pixel is composed of one primary color sub-pixel configured to provide a remaining primary color of the three primary colors and a first non-primary color sub-pixel configured to provide a first color selected from non-primary colors, wherein the non-primary colors are different from the three primary colors. Each complex pixel is composed of one primary color sub-pixel configured to provide the remaining primary color and a second non-primary color sub-pixel configured to provide a second color selected from the non-primary colors.

Abstract:
A display panel includes a pixel group having first through fourth pixels disposed in a two-by-two matrix form. Each of the first through fourth pixels includes at least three subpixels. The first and second pixels have the same subpixel layout. The third pixel has a different subpixel layout from the first pixel. The fourth pixel has a different subpixel layout from the first and third pixels.
