Abstract: Capability of a user equipment to support machine learning adaptation by a base station of a reference signal pattern is signaled between the base station and the user equipment. Configuration information from the base station indicates one or more of enabling or disabling of machine learning adaptation of the reference signal pattern, a machine learning model used for machine learning adaptation of the reference signal pattern, updated model parameters for the machine learning model, or whether model parameters received from the user equipment will be used for machine learning adaptation of the reference signal pattern. Model training may be performed or model parameters received, and reference signals are received from the base station. Information on a reference signal pattern may be transmitted by the user equipment to the serving base station. Assistance information may be transmitted by the user equipment to the base station, which configures a reference signal pattern.

Abstract: A method includes calibrating, at a wireless device, a wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) chipset-level timer based on a time synchronization function (TSF) frame received from a Wi-Fi access point. The method also includes performing, at the wireless device, a coarse synchronization of a microcontroller-level or CPU-level timer based on the calibrated Wi-Fi chipset-level timer. The method further includes performing, at the wireless device, a fine synchronization of the microcontroller-level or CPU-level timer after the coarse synchronization. The fine synchronization is performed according to a first time scale measured in first time units and the coarse synchronization is performed according to a second time scale measured in second time units that are a multiple of the first time units.

Abstract: Vector perturbation precoding of data is enabled or disabled by a base station, which transmits to a user equipment information including vector perturbation schemes and parameters related to vector perturbation precoding. Perturbation vectors are determined based on the vector perturbation schemes, perturbation vectors, and data signals are modulated with the perturbation vectors, with the modulated data signals being transmitted to the user equipment. The vector perturbation precoding parameters may include a power normalization factor, a modulo threshold, and quantization parameters. A downlink control information may indicate a switch between the vector perturbation schemes and a linear precoding scheme.

Abstract: A hybrid MIMO system comprises N digital transceiver chains and N analog beamformers, each coupled to one of the digital transceiver chains and comprising M analog transmitter (TX) chains and M analog receiver (RX) chains. One of the analog RX chains is an RX reference node and one of the analog TX chains is a TX reference node. A processor is coupled to a calibration transceiver, the transceiver chains, and the beamformers. For each beamformer the processor measures, using the corresponding transceiver chain and the calibration transceiver, TX and RX phase responses and TX and RX magnitude responses of the TX and RX reference nodes, respectively, determines a reciprocity calibration based on a phase difference between the TX and RX phase responses and a magnitude difference between the TX and RX magnitude responses, and applies the reciprocity calibration to stored beam definitions to correct for the phase and magnitude differences.

Abstract: Scalable 2D joint phase-time arrays (JPTA) support multiple simultaneous RF beams without sacrificing array gain. A 2D JPTA comprises M antenna groups that each comprise N antennas, each coupled to one of N phase shifters. The array comprises M delay elements configured to: apply a time delay to a first signal to be transmitted by one of the antenna groups while each phase shifter in the group phase shifts the time-delayed first signal and feeds the phase-shifted-and-time-delayed first signal to the corresponding antenna, or apply the time delay to a second signal received from the group while each phase shifter phase shifts a third signal received from the antenna, the second signal being a combination of the phase-shifted third signals. The time delays produce a beam spread in a first dimension of the array such that multiple beams are formed in different directions.

Abstract: A method includes receiving a pilot signal or a measurement report from a user equipment (UE) or a base station (BS). The method also includes updating a CSI buffer with channel state information (CSI) obtained from the pilot signal or the measurement report, the CSI buffer configured to store previous uplink or downlink channel estimates. The method also includes providing at least a portion of the CSI buffer to a CSI predictor comprising an artificial intelligence (AI) model that utilizes one or more weight sharing mechanisms, the AI model comprising a sequence of layers. The method also includes predicting temporal CSI using the CSI predictor. Depending on the configured output, the method can also include and/or be used for denoising and frequency extrapolation.
