Provided are a deformable display device for displaying an image and a method of displaying an image. The method includes determining a current shape of the display device, capturing an image of a user of the display device, detecting a relative position of the user with respect to the display device, based on the captured image of the user, determining a visible region among an entire screen region of the display device, based on the determined current shape and the detected position, and displaying the image on the determined visible region.

Exemplary embodiments disclose a method and device for displaying a changed shape of a page. The method includes: receiving a user touch input on the page; calculating a virtual touch force which acts on a first node on the page based on the user touch input; calculating a virtual spring force which acts on the first node by at least one virtual spring which is connected to the first node based on the calculated virtual touch force; calculating a virtual rod force which acts on the first node by at least one virtual rod which is connected to the first node based on the calculated virtual touch force; and moving the first node based on the virtual touch force, the virtual spring force and the virtual rod force.

Methods and apparatus are provided for operating a close proximity communication channel based on a gesture. A gesture event is generated on a touch screens of a portable terminal. The portable terminal includes a close proximity communication module. The portable terminal generates a context message corresponding to the gesture event. The context message is transmitted to at least one other portable terminal. The close proximity communication channel is established based on the context message.
