Abstract: A method for determining the screen brightness in the electronic device includes determining whether a flip cover opens or closes a screen when the screen display event occurs, determining a first brightness value for a full screen display mode when the flip cover is opened, and determining a second brightens value for a flip covered window display. Other embodiments including an apparatus for determining the screen brightness are also disclosed.
