Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling a sound input path in an electronic device. The method includes detecting a connection of an earphone device to an earphone interface; detecting a sound input through an earphone microphone, when detecting the connection of the earphone device. The earphone microphone is selected as a sound input device, when detecting the sound input through the earphone microphone. A built-in microphone of the electronic device is selected when the sound input through the earphone microphone is not detected.
