    Abstract: According to various embodiments, a method of operating a radio access network intelligent controller (RIC) may include: identifying a deployment request for a first xAPP, based on the request, identifying information related to a message processed by each of at least some of a plurality of nodes executed in the RIC, and based on E2 node subscription-related information about the first xAPP, and deploying the first xAPP to a first node selected from among the plurality of nodes, based on the information related to the message processed by each of the at least some of the plurality of nodes.

    Abstract: An electronic device configured to operate as a radio access network (RAN) intelligent controller (RIC) in an open radio access network (O-RAN) is disclosed. The electronic device may include: a communication interface comprising communication circuitry configured to support an E2 interface, and a processor operatively coupled with the communication interface. The processor may be configured to: store a routing table for managing connectivity between a first application and a plurality of RAN nodes configured to communicate with the RIC over the E2 interface, detect an overload of the first application, generate a second application configured to execute a same function as the first application, update the routing table to include connectivity between at least one of the plurality of RAN nodes and the second application, and control the communication interface to forward messages from the plurality of RAN nodes to the first application and the second application based on the updated routing table.
