Abstract: Provided are a method and/or apparatus for performing a radio access network (RAN) function in a wireless communication system. A server performing a radio access network (RAN) function may be configured to obtain traffic processing information about a plurality of base stations (BSs) connected to the server, obtain information about traffic to occur in the plurality of BSs, based on the traffic processing information, and adjust a resource and/or the number of software components (SCs) to virtualize a RAN function in the server, based on the information about the traffic to occur in the plurality of BSs.

Abstract: According to various embodiments, a method of operating an electronic device may comprise: identifying radio resource allocation information for each of a plurality of physical channels in a first slot, based on a control plane message including radio resource allocation information for the first slot; identifying each of prediction operation amounts for each of the plurality of physical channels, based on the radio resource allocation information for each of the plurality of physical channels; identifying an available operation amount for each of a plurality of hardware resources supported by the electronic device; and allocating each of the plurality of physical channels to at least some of the plurality of hardware resources, based on the available operation amount for each of the plurality of hardware resources and the prediction operation amount for each of the plurality of physical channels.

Abstract: A technology for performing a radio access network function is provided. A server for performing the radio access network function obtains information about traffic to be generated at one or more base stations, based on a scheduling request regarding the one or more base stations, determines information about time latency and a radio resource requested regarding the traffic, based on the information about the traffic to be generated, determines scheduling information about a processor resource assigned on at least one pipeline of the at least one processor to process the traffic, based on the information about the time latency and radio resource, and an available processor resource at the server, and processes the traffic by the at least one pipeline, based on the scheduling information.
