Abstract: An apparatus and method for controlling display of a broadcast program for use in a system including an electronic device with a communication function and an external display device is provided. The broadcast playback control method of an electronic device includes displaying program information including a schedule registration icon, scheduling, when the schedule registration icon is selected, a broadcast program slotted to play at a broadcast time included in the program information, and controlling playback of the registered program at the broadcast time.
