Abstract: An electronic device according to an embodiment disclosed in the present specification may comprise a processor, a touch panel for receiving a touch input, a pressure sensor for detecting a pressure value of the touch input, and a controller for transmitting to the processor touch data corresponding to the touch input. The controller responds to the touch input if the pressure value of the touch input is a threshold value or greater, switches an operation mode of the controller from a first mode to a second mode, and can transmit the touch data to the processor in the second mode. Besides this, various embodiments are possible as identified in the specification.

The electronic device includes an input panel configured to periodically sense touch coordinates corresponding to a touch manipulation of a user; and a processor configured to periodically receive the touch coordinates from the input panel, calculate a variation of the touch coordinates based on the touch coordinates, change a reference value for determining movement of the touch manipulation based on the variation of the touch coordinates, and determine whether the touch manipulation moves, based on the reference value.

Abstract: An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a display, a first sensor, a second sensor, and a processor configured to obtain, using the first sensor, location information corresponding to an active area of the display, in response to contact between an external object and the display, obtain, using the second sensor, pressure information corresponding to a pressure applied to the display resulting from the contact between the external object and the display, and determine a validity of the location information based on whether the pressure information satisfies a designated condition.
