Abstract: A method of communicating, by a first device, with at least one second device in a wireless local area network (WLAN) system includes allocating at least one resource unit (RU) within a bandwidth to a second device; generating at least one subfield defining the at least one RU; generating a trigger frame comprising a user information field comprising the at least one subfield, and transmitting a PPDU including the trigger frame to the at least one second device, wherein the generating comprises setting at least seven bits associated with the at least one RU and setting at least two bits as a value defining a subband that includes the at least one RU when the band width comprises at least four subbands.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for allocating a multiple resource unit (RU) for a user in a wireless local area network (WLAN) system are provided. A transmission device of the WLAN system includes a transceiver that generates a physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) including a preamble and a payload and transmitting the generated PPDU to at least one receiving device and a processor controlling the transceiver. The preamble includes a plurality of training fields and a plurality of signaling fields. Resource unit (RU) allocation information on the at least one receiving device is included in one of the plurality of signaling fields. The RU allocation information includes a first subfield indicating an arrangement of RUs in a frequency domain corresponding to the PPDU and a second subfield indicating a portion of the RUs to be combined to form a multiple RU.

Generating the at least one RU allocation sub-field may include identifying a first RU including a first sub-channel to indicate a zero user in the MRU; and generating a first RU allocation sub-field corresponding to the first sub-channel based on the first RU.

Abstract: A baseband circuit in a transmitting device of a WLAN may include at least one processor configured to generate a PPDU comprising a preamble and a payload. The preamble includes training fields and signaling fields, and the payload includes a data field. A first one of the signaling fields includes a compression mode field indicating whether resource unit (RU) allocation information designated for at least one receiving device is included in a second one of the signaling fields. A binary value of the compression mode field represents whether the RU allocation information is included and size information associated with the RU allocated to the at least one receiving device.
