Abstract: Embodiments herein provide a method for providing a topic view using an electronic device. The method includes detecting, by a gesture detection unit of the electronic device, a user input on content displayed on a display of the electronic device. Further, the method includes identifying a topic of the content displayed on a display of the electronic device. Further, the method includes determining, by a controller of the electronic device, a degree of similarity between the identified topic and at least one topic related to at least one content displayed on at least one external electronic device corresponding to at least one contact item stored in the electronic device.
