Abstract: An electronic device and a speech recognition method that is capable of adjusting an end-of-utterance detection period dynamically are disclosed. The electronic device includes a microphone, a display, an input device formed as a part of the display or connected to the electronic device as a separate device, a processor electrically connected to the microphone, the display, and the input device, and a memory electrically connected to the processor. The memory stores instructions, executable by the processor, for receiving an utterance input by a user through the microphone, converting the utterance to text comprised of a series of words or phrases with spaces, displaying the text on the display, the text comprising at least one space formed at an incorrect position, and receiving a user input for updating a predetermined time period through the input device.

Abstract: A call service providing method and an electronic device thereof are provided. The electronic device includes: at least one communication circuit supporting at least one communication protocol; a display; a microphone; a speaker; an input device which is configured with or separated from the display; a control circuit electrically coupled to the communication circuit, the display, the microphone, the speaker, and the input device; and a memory electrically coupled to the control circuit. The memory stores instructions executable by the control circuit to: receive a first call from a first external electronic device via the at least one communication circuit; during the first call, receive a request for a second call from a second external electronic device via the at least one communication circuit; receive the second call based on input via the input device; convert a first voice data from the second external electronic device to a first text data and display the first text data on the display; and convert a second text data inputted via the input device to a second voice data and transmit the second voice data to the second external electronic device. Various other embodiments are provided.

Abstract: An electronic device is provided, which includes a housing; a microphone located on or within a predetermined distance of a first portion of the housing; a speaker located on or within a predetermined distance of a second portion of the housing; a communication circuit; a processor electrically connected to the microphone, the speaker, and the communication circuit; and a memory electrically connected to the processor configured to store a message to be provided as a voice through the speaker, wherein the memory stores instructions, wherein the processor is configured to execute the instructions to perform operations comprising: determining time information corresponding to a first part of the message if providing of the message is necessary, outputting the message through the speaker, receiving an input sound through the microphone while at least a part of the message is output, and processing the input sound using the time information to detect at least one word or sentence from the input sound, and the processing the input sound includes processing the input sound by ignoring at least a part of the input sound using the time information.

Abstract: Disclosed are an apparatus and a method of cancelling an echo signal flowing in a microphone of an electronic device. The electronic device may include: a microphone configured to receive a sound signal; an Application Processor (AP) configured to execute an application; a communication module configured to control a voice call service; a speaker configured to output a sound signal; an audio processing module configured to process an output of at least one of an audio signal received from the AP, a voice signal received from the communication module, or a combined signal to the speaker; a first Acoustic Echo Canceller (AEC) configured to cancel an echo of the sound signal received through the microphone based on the output from the audio processing module and provide the signal to the AP, the first AEC being located in at least one of the AP, the audio processing module, and an external pre-processing module; and a second AEC configured to cancel an echo of the sound signal received through the microphone based on the output from the audio processing module and provide the signal to the communication module, the second AEC being located in at least one of the communication module, the audio processing module, and the external pre-processing module.
