Abstract: A method and a wireless network system are provided for paging reception optimization in a first terminal. The method includes establishing, by the first terminal, a Device-to-Device (D2D) communication with a second terminal; receiving, by the first terminal, paging information from the second terminal; receiving, by the first terminal, a paging message from a network; and sending a paging notification to the second terminal upon receiving a paging message for the second terminal.
