Abstract: An apparatus and method for controlling a portable apparatus including a flexible display are provided. The method includes detecting a bent portion of the flexible display; displaying a User Interface (UI) on the detected bent portion of the flexible display; detecting an input through the UI displayed on the detected bent portion of the display; and performing an operation corresponding to the input detected through the UI displayed on the detected bent portion of the display.
