摘要： There are provided an electronic paper display device and a method of manufacturing the same. The electronic paper display device includes: a lower substrate having lower barrier ribs formed thereon, the lower barrier ribs forming cells for receiving electronic paper display elements; electronic paper display elements mounted in the cells of the lower substrate and having optical and electrical anisotropy; and an upper substrate formed to cover the lower substrate and including upper patterns bonded to the lower barrier ribs so as to secure a fluid moving path of the cell.

摘要： There is provided a method of manufacturing a sheet type electronic paper display device. The method includes: forming a preliminary substrate including a plurality of raised patterns having a greater width than a diameter of first rotary bodies, and a plurality of cell spaces formed between the raised patterns; disposing second rotary bodies in the plurality of cell spaces; injecting a first elastomer matrix into the cell spaces to cover the second rotary bodies; separating the first elastomer matrix from the preliminary substrate to thereby obtain a semi-sheet type structure including depressed patterns corresponding to the raised patterns, protrusions corresponding to the cell spaces and formed of the first elastomer matrix, and the second rotary bodies located within the protrusions; disposing the first rotary bodies in the depressed patterns; and injecting a second elastomer matrix into the depressed patterns to cover the first rotary bodies.

摘要： There are provided a method of manufacturing an electronic paper display device and an electronic paper display device manufactured by the method, and the method of manufacturing an electronic display device includes: providing a substrate having a plurality of walls and a plurality of cells defined by the walls; disposing at least one kind of rotators in the cells; disposing a display-sided electrode on the substrate to cover the rotators; and disposing a back electrode, opposite to the display-sided electrode, on the substrate, in which the rotators are arranged in the cells by a jig having a cylindrical center body, retaining grooves that are formed around the center body and retain the rotator, protrusions that are formed between adjacent retaining grooves, and a guide that is formed around the protrusions and has inlets and an outlet for the rotators.The rotators can be regularly arranged in the cells by a roll-to-roll imprint process using a jig, such that it is possible to provide a method of manufacturing an electronic paper display device having an improved screen contrast ratio, and an electronic paper display device.

The electronic paper display device includes: rotating balls each having at least two display areas colored in different colors and including a portion charged with a positive charge and a portion charged with a negative charge; a driving controller generating a driving voltage for rotating the rotating balls; and an upper electrode and a lower electrode provided above and below the rotating balls, respectively, and receiving a driving voltage from the driving controller, wherein the driving controller may apply a first driving voltage for rotating the rotating balls between the upper electrode and the lower electrode for time duration T1 and apply a second driving voltage, which has a polarity opposite to that of the first driving voltage, between the upper electrode and the lower electrode for time duration T2.
