    摘要: Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for shortening a processing time at each node in an optical network. A transmission optical cross-connect (OXC) determines a transmission rate corresponding to the transmission speed of the signal to be transmitted. An optical receiver and an optical transmitter are stabilized by means of the transmission rate. In addition, a transmission OXC transmits the transmission rate to an OXC aligned between the transmission OXC and the receiving OXC, thereby stabilizing the OXC. Each of the OXCs detects the transmission speed of the optical signal to be received so that a time required for converting the transmission speed is reduced.

    摘要: A bit rate-independent optical receiver ensures transparency with respect to changes of the transmission format and its associated bit rate in relation to an optical communications system. The optical receiver includes an opto-electric converter for converting an input optical signal into an electric signal, an amplifier circuit for amplifying the electrical signal, a bit rate-sensing circuit for generating a sensing signal with a voltage level determined on the basis of the bit rate of the electrical signal, a bit rate-recognition circuit for generating a recognition signal further amplified from the sensing signal, and a clock/data recovery circuit for reproducing a clock signal and data from the amplified electrical signal in accordance with a control signal. A controller determines a bit rate corresponding to the voltage level of the recognition signal by referring to a look-up table of the bit rate to the voltage level and provides the clock/data recovery circuit with the control signal representative of the bit rate.

A plurality of nodes are connected by an optical-transmission line wherein each nodes automatically recognizes a data rate of an input signal and communicates over a redundant channel with an adjacent node when there is a certain type of error. An optical-receiving unit receives an optical signal performs O/E conversion. A main optical-transmitting unit recovers clock and data signals according to the converted signal and sets a data rate according to the converted signal for subsequent transmission; a redundant optical-transmitting unit recovers a clock and data according to the converted signal and sets a data rate according to the converted signal for subsequent transmission A switch provides selectively connection state between the optical-receiving unit and the main optical-transmitting unit and between the optical-receiving unit and the redundant optical-transmitting unit.

The optical cross-connect device includes: N BICDR (Bit Rate Independent Clock and Data Recovery) receivers each for receiving the associated optical signals outputted from the demultiplexer, for converting the associated optical signal into an electrical signal and reproducing clocks and data based on the bit rate of the electrical signal; a switchboard with a cross-connect switch for receiving output signals from the respective N BICDR receiver; N bit rate discriminating units for receiving the output signals from the N BICDR receivers, respectively, thereby outputting bit rate discriminating signals associated with the N BICDR receivers, respectively; a temperature sensing unit for outputting a temperature sensing signal; and, a central processing unit for receiving the bit rate discriminating signals from the N bit rate discriminating unit, along with the temperature sensing signal from the temperature sensing unit, for compensating each of the received bit rate discriminating signals with a temperature-dependent bit rate value read out, based on the temperature sensing signal, from a memory, and for controlling the bit rate of the associated BICDR receiver based on the compensated bit rate.
