An audio signal encoding method and apparatus and an audio signal decoding method and apparatus are provided. The audio signal encoding method includes: transforming an audio signal into a signal of a frequency domain; extracting semantic information from the audio signal; variably reconfiguring one or more sub-bands included in the audio signal by segmenting or grouping the one or more sub-bands using the extracted semantic information; and generating a quantized bitstream by calculating a quantization step size and a scale factor with respect to a reconfigured sub-band of the one or more sub-bands.

A method of handover in a wireless communication system in which an asynchronous system and a synchronous system are mixed is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of: the asynchronous system ordering a dual mode mobile terminal to perform a handover from the asynchronous system to the synchronous system; when the handover order is received at the mobile terminal, the mobile terminal transmitting a frame or a preamble through a reverse traffic channel to the synchronous system, reporting to the synchronous system that the handover is completed and initiating a timer of the mobile terminal which is set according to a predetermined time; the mobile terminal switching from an asynchronous vocoder into a synchronous vocoder when the timer expires; and the wireless communication system switching vocoders of asynchronous and synchronous MSCs when the report is received.

The handover method includes the steps of the base stations of the synchronous mobile communication network transmitting dummy pilot signals for the asynchronous mobile communication network, the mobile communication terminal, for which call connection with the asynchronous mobile communication network is performed through the asynchronous wireless device, determining whether the dummy pilot signals for the asynchronous mobile communication network have been received through the asynchronous wireless device; the mobile communication terminal requesting handover from the asynchronous mobile communication network if it is determined that the dummy pilot signals for the asynchronous mobile communication network have been received; and the asynchronous mobile communication network determining that handover is possible, notifying the mobile communication terminal of the determination that handover is possible, and the asynchronous mobile communication network requesting handover to the synchronous mobile communication network, thus performing handover.

The present invention relates to a method of controlling a mobile communication terminal and mobile communication system therefor. In the mobile communication terminal control method, a synchronous base station of a synchronous area placed at the boundary region of an asynchronous area transmits a dummy pilot signal at the same frequency as that of a signal used in the asynchronous mobile communication system and drives a synchronous modem unit of the mobile communication terminal moving from the asynchronous area to the synchronous area. A handover cell is constructed at the boundary between synchronous and asynchronous areas, and a handover base station in the handover cell transmits a signal including system information at the same frequency as that of a signal used in the asynchronous mobile communication system, thus driving the synchronous modem unit of the mobile communication terminal entering the handover cell.

In the present invention, as a mobile communication terminal, which is using service in the area of an asynchronous mobile communication system, detects signals from a synchronous mobile communication system, the mobile communication terminal repeatedly performs a process of examining whether, in a predetermined time, signals from the asynchronous mobile communication system have been detected a designated number of times, and measuring the intensity of the signals. When the number of times that the intensity of signals from the asynchronous mobile communication system is smaller than a designated number of times, or no signals from the asynchronous mobile communication system are detected, within the predetermined time, it is determined whether to perform handover of the mobile communication terminal.

The video telephony service method includes the step of the mobile communication system, which stores profile information, setting up a call between culling and called mobile communication terminals; the step of the mobile communication system transmitting the profile information of the calling mobile communication terminal to the called mobile communication terminal, as the calling mobile communication terminal transmits the profile information thereof to the mobile communication system; the step of the called mobile communication terminal consulting the profile information, and transmitting a response signal to the mobile communication system after establishing conditions for video telephony if it is determined that video telephony is possible for a received profile, and the mobile communication system transmitting the response signal to the calling mobile communication terminal; and the step of the mobile communication system establishing a communication path between the calling and called mobile communication terminals.

Disclosed herein is a handover method for a mobile communication terminal in a mobile communication network in which an asynchronous network and a synchronous network coexist. In the present invention, as a mobile communication terminal, which is making a call through an asynchronous mobile communication system, moves into the area of a synchronous mobile communication system, and thus a handover event occurs, the establishment of a call with a synchronous mobile communication system is performed by the automatic call termination or origination of the mobile communication terminal while a connection between the asynchronous modem unit of the mobile communication terminal and the asynchronous mobile communication system is maintained, and then the connection with the asynchronous mobile communication system is released. Accordingly, a call interruption can be prevented at the time of handover between heterogeneous networks.

Disclosed is a DC current sensor including: a magnetic core symmetrically divided into two parts and having a center space through which a conductive wire carrying DC current to be measured passes; a detection coil wound around one of the magnetic core parts for measuring electromotive force; an operating member installed at the other one of the magnetic core parts repeatedly approach and retreat the magnetic core parts from each other in a non-contact manner; and a controller for controlling the operating member to repeatedly approach and retreat the magnetic core parts from each other to generate electromotive force on a magnetic circuit, wherein there are a pair of gaps between the pair of magnetic core parts, and the generated electromotive force is measured by the detection coil and output from an amplifier circuit to detect the DC current flowing through the conductive wire. Therefore, it is possible to increase detection precision of the DC current sensor by finely controlling the size of the gap.
