Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a sleeve for fitting around a spooling drum: the sleeve comprises at least a groove for receiving a conveying element to be spooled around the drum, is made of flexible material and is configured so as to be able to take a first configuration in which the sleeve forms a flat sheet, the groove extending in a direction, called spooling direction, and a second configuration in which the sleeve forms a cylinder, with the groove is situated on an external face of the cylinder.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a method for monitoring the performances of a cable for carrying a downhole assembly in a wellbore, the cable having at least a conductive core and an insulating outer layer, the method including: performing on the cable a detection operation for detecting the presence of local anomalies of the cable; generating an electrical model of a predetermined configuration of an installation including the cable and the downhole assembly disposed in the wellbore, the model being defined in function of the detected local anomalies, estimating a parameter relative to a signal transmitted by the cable between the downhole assembly and a surface equipment in the predetermined configuration on the basis of the electrical model.
Abstract:
An apparatus with a straddle packer for use within a wellbore. The straddle packer can include a tubular body comprising a first bore and a second bore and a first sealing element configured to seal against an inner surface of a casing installed within the wellbore. A second sealing element configured to seal against the inner surface of the casing, and the second bore can be located between the first sealing element and the second sealing element. An obstruction disposed in association with the tubular body, wherein the obstruction is movable between a first position in which the obstruction opens the second bore and a second position in which the obstruction closes the second bore.
Abstract:
Apparatus and methods for performing downhole torqueing. The apparatus may be a downhole tool for rotating a first downhole equipment disposed within a wellbore. The downhole tool may include first and second rotative members operable to rotate relative to each other along an axis of the downhole tool. The downhole tool may further include a first gripping member connected with the first rotative member and operable to engage the first downhole equipment, and a second gripping member connected with the second rotative member and operable to engage a second downhole equipment. An actuator may be operable to impart a force to cause the relative rotation between the first and second rotative members thereby causing rotation of the first downhole equipment when the first gripping member is connected with the first downhole equipment and the second gripping member is connected with the second downhole equipment.
