Abstract: Processes and systems for microseismic event detection. In some embodiments, the process can include acquiring seismic data with a dense seismic receiver array; converting seismic data into an image domain dataset; detecting one or more seismic waveform edges; characterizing within the image domain dataset one or more linear segments which each define a portion of one or more of the one or more seismic waveform edges, and wherein the linear segments are functions of one or more seismic arrival times and one or more subterranean depths; and estimating the subterranean depth of the one or more microseismic events within a subterranean formation based on the one or more linear segments.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for monitoring a wellbore in a lateral section, during stimulation, with equipment enabling retrieval in many conditions. The method includes monitoring the wellbore with a distributed fiber optic sensor to determine one or more characteristics of the stimulation operation using detected backscattered optical signals on the distributed fiber optic sensor. The method also includes retrieving a cable by exerting a traction force. A downhole device is provided for receiving the cable and includes retainers to maintain the cable and also includes a weakpoint configured to break when subjected to a force along a longitudinal axis of the downhole device that is greater than a predetermined threshold. The system includes the cable having the distributed fiber optic sensor, the downhole device, and a surface monitoring system for determining the characteristic of the stimulation operation using detected backscattered optical signals on the distributed fiber optic sensor.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a system, downhole device and method for monitoring a wellbore, in particular in a lateral section, during stimulation, with an equipment enabling retrieval in many conditions. The method includes monitoring the wellbore with a distributed fiber optic sensor to determine one or more characteristics of the stimulation operation using detected backscattered optical signals on the distributed fiber optic sensor. The cable is retrieved by exerting a traction force. The disclosure also relates to a downhole device for receiving a cable and retainers to maintain the cable and having a weakpoint configured to break when subjected to a force along the longitudinal axis greater than a predetermined threshold. The system comprises the cable having the distributed fiber optic sensor, the downhole device and a surface monitoring system for determining the characteristic of the stimulation operation using detected backscattered optical signals on the distributed fiber optic sensor.

Abstract: A well-logging system includes a first downhole tool coupled to a first cable for conveying the first downhole tool along a wellbore. A second downhole tool having a housing is coupled to a second cable for conveying the second downhole tool along the wellbore. The well-logging system includes a cable guide having a chassis structure coupled to the housing and a sleeve coupled to the chassis structure and disposed about the first cable. The first cable is configured to translate along the sleeve such that the sleeve facilitates guided movement of the first downhole tool relative to the second downhole tool.
