Abstract: A downhole hydraulic frac tool for use in a hydraulic fracturing system, the frac tool comprising a dissolvable frac tool member that includes a water-dissolvable composition, the composition including: a water-soluble thermoplastic polymer; and water-soluble bulk metallic glass (BMG) particles, wherein: the BMG particles are embedded within a matrix of the water-soluble thermoplastic polymer, the BMG particles have a greater tensile strength than a tensile strength the water-soluble thermoplastic polymer, and the BMG particles have a higher fracture toughness than a fracture toughness the water-soluble thermoplastic polymer. A method of manufacturing a dissolvable downhole hydraulic frac tool member and, a hydraulic fracturing system associated with a wellbore in which dissolvable downhole hydraulic frac tools of the disclosure can be used, are also disclosed.

A method for operating a seal tool includes resisting swabbing of a seal by holding tension in the seal element and setting the seal tool by releasing a releaser. Abstract: Fracturing systems with frac valves for controlling flow of fracturing fluid are provided. In one embodiment, a fracturing apparatus includes a frac valve having a housing with a bore to convey fracturing fluid, a seal disposed within the bore, and an actuator coupled to control movement of the seal. The actuator can be disposed within the bore so as to move the seal between a closed position in which the seal blocks fracturing fluid flow through the bore and an open position that allows fracturing fluid flow through the bore. Additional systems, devices, and methods for fracturing are also disclosed.

The engagement mechanism comprises a seal supported by two expandable support rings, each having a respective elliptical face for engagement with the elliptical face of the other support ring.

Abstract: A production well has nested casings including a first production casing and a first production tubing installed within the first production casing, which extends from a surface to a depth within the wellbore. Before implementing a gas-lift operation in the production well, the first production tubing is removed. A second production casing is lowered within the first production casing. The second production casing has a smaller outer diameter than an inner diameter of the first production casing. From the surface of the wellbore to the depth within the wellbore to which the second production casing extends, the inner diameter of the second production casing is expanded until an outer wall of the second production casing forms a gas-tight seal with an inner wall of the first production casing.
