Abstract: A modulated signal of a predetermined frequency is applied to a capacitive sensor of a magnetic head. The capacitive sensor is located proximate to a media-facing surface of the magnetic head. A clearance between the magnetic head and a magnetic medium is determined using a response to the modulated signal at the predetermined frequency.
