Abstract: A novel light-emitting device with high emission efficiency is provided. A light-emitting device with a high blue index (BI) is provided. A light-emitting device with low power consumption is provided. A light-emitting device including a first electrode and a second electrode which are a reflective electrode and a semi-transmissive and semi-reflective electrode, and an EL layer sandwiched between the first electrode and the second electrode, where the EL layer contains an emission center substance, where when the emission center substance in the EL layer includes only one kind of substance, photon energy of a peak wavelength of light emitted from the light-emitting device is designed from an average value of photon energy of light emitted by the emission center substance in a solution state and emission edge energy on a short wavelength side of an emission spectrum of the emission center substance in the solution state.

Abstract: A highly reliable light-emitting element which can keep favorable characteristics throughout long-time driving is provided. In addition, a light-emitting element with high color purity and high emission efficiency is provided. Furthermore, a light-emitting device having a long lifetime in which the light-emitting element is used is provided. Moreover, an electronic device and a lighting device each of which has a long lifetime are provided. In the light-emitting element including an EL layer between a pair of electrodes, the EL layer has a stacked-layer structure of a first light-emitting layer, a second light-emitting layer, and a third light-emitting layer. The light-emitting layer includes an electron-transport material, a hole-transport material, and a light-emitting material. Furthermore, light emitted from the first light-emitting layer and light emitted from the third light-emitting layer have the same color and each have a longer wavelength than light emitted from the second light-emitting layer.

Abstract: A light-emitting device with high emission efficiency is provided. The light-emitting device includes an anode, a cathode, and an EL layer positioned between the anode and the cathode. The EL layer includes a light-emitting layer and an electron-transport layer; the light-emitting layer includes a light-emitting material; the electron-transport layer includes an organic compound having an electron-transport property and a metal complex of an alkali metal; the ordinary refractive index of the organic compound having an electron-transport property in a peak wavelength of light emitted from the light-emitting material is greater than or equal to 1.50 and less than or equal to 1.75; and the ordinary refractive index of the metal complex of an alkali metal in the peak wavelength of the light emitted from the light-emitting material is greater than or equal to 1.45 and less than or equal to 1.70.
