摘要： Disclosed herein is an interdigitation-type diffractive light modulator. In the interdigitation-type diffractive light modulator of the present invention, each of a pair of ribbons has a plurality of diffractive branches which are arranged in a comb shape, and the diffractive branches of the ribbons interdigitate with each other. Furthermore, the respective ribbons moves upwards and downwards or, alternatively, one ribbon moves upwards and downwards, so that the diffractive branches of the ribbons which interdigitate with each other form a stepped structure, thus diffracting incident light.

摘要： An apparatus for measuring the position of the mirror of a diffractive light modulator and performing positional compensation, and a method of controlling the apparatus. A position measurement unit measures the position of a mirror of the diffractive light modulator. A control unit calculates the value of displacement from a reference position by evaluating a position value calculated by the position measurement unit, calculates a compensation value and outputs a compensation control signal. A compensation and actuation unit performs compensation on a drive voltage in response to the compensation control signal, and actuates the mirror of the diffractive light modulator using the compensated drive voltage.

摘要： Disclosed herein is a diffractive waveguide-spatial optical modulator. The diffractive waveguide-spatial optical modulator includes a substrate member, a plurality of reflecting members, and an actuation means. The reflecting members are each formed in a plate shape, are arranged on the substrate member at regular intervals to form a grating array, are configured to form openings therebetween, and are provided with reflecting surfaces formed on the opposite vertical surfaces of the reflecting members and the bottoms of the openings. The actuation means varies the interval between the reflecting members by actuating the reflecting members. The openings between the reflecting members act as wave guides when light is incident on the open sides thereof, and shift the phase of the incident light and then reflect the incident light, so that the reflected light can form diffracted light, when the interval is varied by the reflecting members.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device for improving working efficiency and reducing manufacturing cost. In the device, a data integrated circuit has a data output group for supplying pixel data to data lines and a dummy data output channel group which is not supplied with pixel data. A channel selector selects an output channel of the data output channel group. A tape carrier package is mounted with the data integrated circuit and has a data output pad group connected to the data output channel group and a dummy output pad group. The pixel data is applied, via the data output channels selected by the channel selector, to the data lines.
