Abstract: Disclosed herein is a connector which comprises a female housing and a male housing to be inserted and fitted into the female housing for establishing an electrical connection therebetween. The connector further comprises locking member pivotably provided on one of the female and male housings in such a manner that one housing is locked with the other housing by the locking member only when the female and male housings are properly fitted together. The locking member includes engagement projection for temporarily hooking the locking member to one housing until the other housing is inserted into one housing. On the other housing, there is provided a projection for disengaging the lock member from one housing when one housing is inserted into the other housing.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a connector which comprises a female housing, a male housing to be inserted and fitted into the female housing, first guide member having first confirmation apertures, the first guide member being provided on the female housing, and second guide member having second confirmation apertures, the second guide member being provided on the male housing such that the second guide member is cooperatively guided by the first guide member and such that the first confirmation apertures aligns with the second confirmation apertures at least at a point during the insertion of the male housing into the female housing, whereby the fitting condition between the female and male housings can be detected by detecting the relative positions of the first and second apertures. In order to detect the relative positions, an opto-electronics detector can be used. Then, the amount of the detected light is converted into electrical signal which inputted into a computer, whereby automatic detection of the fitting condition of the housings can be attained.

Abstract: Enclosed herein is a connector which comprises a connector housing having a rear portion thereof. A plurality of terminal accommodating compartments are formed in the connector housing and each terminal accommodating compartment has an aperture. A plurality of terminals connected to wires, respectively, are inserted into the terminal accommodating compartment through the apertures. A cover member removably attached to the rear portion of the connector housing is provided. The cover member includes a spacer section for securing the terminals in the terminal accommodating compartments when the spacer section is inserted into the apertures and a wire bundling section for bundling the wires therein. The spacing section and wire bundling section are formed on the cover member integrally.

Abstract: An electric connector comprises a receptacle including a wall portion and an opening portion for receiving a male terminal, and a resilient contact piece opposite the wall portion within the receptacle and supporting the male terminal in cooperation with the wall portion of the receptacle.
