摘要: An object is to efficiently set configurations of a storage apparatus. Provided is an information apparatus communicably coupled to a storage apparatus 10, which validates a script executed by the storage apparatus 10 for setting a configuration of the storage apparatus 10, the information apparatus generating configurations of the storage apparatus 10 when after each command described in a script is executed sequentially; and performing consistency validation on the script by determining whether or not the command described in the script is normally executable in a case the command is executed on an assumption that the storage apparatus 10 has the configuration immediately before the execution.

摘要: Commands can be issued by being flexibly adjusted to each of an in-band method and an out-of-band method.A disk controller includes: a pseudo-logical volume provided independently from a substantial logical volume; a command analyzer for analyzing a command received by means of communication on the in-band method or the out-of-band method; and a special command processing unit for executing operation over the substantial logical volume which corresponds to the pseudo-logical volume, instead of executing operation over the pseudo-logical volume, if the command means an instruction to operate the pseudo-logical volume.

The storage system is designed such that the memory resources within the system are managed by a system manager while partitions of the memory resources are managed by partition managers assigned for every partition unit. The storage system is provided with management modules that change the configuration of the memory resources corresponding to the content set by the system manager or partition manager, a history data management module that creates history data correlating the identifier of the partition unit that has undergone modification of the configuration of the memory resources, the setting content, and the identification data of the manager, and a history data storage unit that stores the history data.

摘要: The present invention partitions a cache region of a storage subsystem for each user and prevents interference between user-dedicated regions. A plurality of CLPR can be established within the storage subsystem. A CLPR is a user-dedicated region that can be used by partitioning the cache region of a cache memory. Management information required to manage the data stored in the cache memory is allocated to each CLPR in accordance with the attribute of the segment or slot. The clean queue and clean counter, which manage the segments in a clean state, are provided in each CLPR. The dirty queue and dirty counter are used jointly by all the CLPR. The free queue, classification queue, and BIND queue are applied jointly to all the CLPR, only the counters being provided in each CLPR.
