Abstract:
A liquid crystal display having a liquid crystal mixture of cholesteric and nematic liquid crystal materials and a method of manufacturing the display. A polymer-liquid crystal mixture, obtained by mixing a mixture of cholesteric and nematic liquid crystals with a polymer compound, is sealed in a plurality of cells between two substrates having respective electrodes. Various mixtures are used in different cells so that different colors can be displayed.
Abstract:
A color LCD system includes an LCD cell, a color filter, and a light collecting member. The LCD cell includes a pair of panels, a pair of transparent electrodes facing each other and being disposed on the panels, respectively, and a pair of orientation layers covering the transparent electrodes, respectively, a color filter attached to an outer face of the LCD cell and having red, green, and blue filter layers each of which has the same centerline as that of the transparent electrode. The light collecting member is disposed between the color filter and a light source to improve light effect.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an LCD for displaying colour images including a liquid crystal unit for transmitting selectively light rays through pixels under the control of video signals, a video signal supply device for supplying the video signals controlling the pixels of the liquid crystal unit, a monochromatic light ray supplying device for supplying a red, green or blue light ray necessary to present colours under the control of the video signals, and a light supplying device for supplying white light to the monochromatic. The monochromatic light ray supplying device is structured so as to separate the white light provided by the light supplying device into the red, green and blue light rays which light rays are selectively supplied to the pixels of the liquid crystal unit as the video signals control the pixels of the liquid crystal unit.
Abstract:
A method for controlling a heating system for organically controlling heating of respective rooms to uniformly heat the respective rooms by proportionally calculating heat supplies required by the respective rooms from temperature of returned water, even when the heat supplies required by the respective rooms are different from each other, depending on external conditions of the respective rooms. The method adjusts flow rates of heating water supplied to the respective rooms by adjusting opening rates of room valves installed in heating water pipes. The temperature of the returned heating water is measured, a ratio of opening rates of the respective room valves is calculated from the measured temperature of the returned water to proportionally supply heat to the respective rooms, and the opening rates of the respective room valves are adjusted, depending on the calculated ratio of the opening rates.
Abstract:
A film type compensation cell for an LCD which compensates for the twist angle of the liquid crystal in the LCD. The compensation cell has two compensation films, having orientation grooves formed on the surfaces thereof. Liquid crystal is between the two compensation films and is twisted in an opposite direction of the liquid crystal in the LCD. Compensation cells can be manufactured by forming orientation grooves on the surfaces of the compensation films and applying a liquid crystal therebetween. The compensation films are then pressed together and cut to the requisite size.
Abstract:
A method for controlling a heating system for uniformly heating respective rooms by proportionally calculating heat supplies required by the respective rooms, even when the heat supplies required for heating the respective rooms are different from each other, depending on indoor temperature conditions and external conditions of the respective rooms. The method adjusts flow rates of heating water supplied to the respective rooms by adjusting opening rates of room valves installed in heating water pipes. Current temperature differences between temperatures set for the respective rooms and indoor temperatures measured in the respective rooms are calculated, and opening rates of other room valves of other rooms, excluding rooms having a current temperature difference larger than a previously set temperature difference, are reduced.
Abstract:
A liquid crystal display device includes a hologram layer having predetermined patterns corresponding to patterns of a color filter. Light inputted to the LCD device is transmitted through the hologram layer when reflected by a reflection layer out of the LCD device. Efficiency of use of the light reflected from the hologram layer is maximized so that quality of an image is improved.
